We deliver School Wellbeing Days - for primary and secondary students.
Combining the benefits of outdoor exercise with bushcraft activities - this is a great day out!
Our School Wellbeing Days aim to…
Improve school engagement and academic attainment
Promote physical and mental wellbeing
Improve behaviour, reduce fixed term exclusions, and prevent permanent exclusions
Support school transitions

We are accepting enquiries from schools interested in offering their students a School Wellbeing Day.

What is it?
Using bushcraft activities and physical challenge, we help groups of young people discover their inner capabilities.
When?
Available throughout the school term
From 10am to 2pm
Where?
We deliver at Hill End Outdoor Education Centre (near Oxford, OX2 9NJ).
For who?
The days are aimed at girls and boys struggling in school (SEND or otherwise)
Impact will be especially significant for students with:
low self-esteem
disengaged at school
poor social skills
Group size?
The day works best with 4 to 8 students (but if you would like to bring more then that can be arranged)
What is the day schedule?
10am - instructor greets school students in the car park
10.10am - the team walk to the forest camp area
10.20am - bushcraft skills (rope work, whittling, sawing, splitting logs, fire lighting etc)
11.20am - cook food over the fire
12.00pm - philosophy and wellbeing discussion around the fire
12.20pm - physical training (bootcamp style, with sandbags, ropes, logs etc)
1.40pm - group debrief
2.00pm - pickup time

Please note - Students will be asked to leave their phones at home (unless needed for medical reasons).
Cost
The cost for a group (up to 8 students) and supporting teacher(s) is £450 (which includes site access, camp food, qualified instructor)
What you need to bring
Suitable outdoor clothing
Outdoor footwear like boots or wellies (trainers are fine, but they will get muddy and wet)
Day bag with: spare layers (if cold weather), water bottle (minimum 2L), sandwich (optional) and snack
School Wellbeing Days are physical (and fun). Students will be tired, but the rewards are great.
